Election results 2024: What changes can employers expect?

Harassment by third parties

In October this year, legislation is coming into force to require employers to take ‘reasonable steps’ to prevent employees suffering sexual harassment, including by third parties/customers etc.

Labour will extend the duty so that employers will be required to take “all reasonable steps”, placing a greater burden on employers and probably make it more difficult for employers to show they did what was reasonable to prevent it.
