Directors: IoD consults on code of conduct for directors
On 6 June 2024, the Institute of Directors published a new consultation paper seeking views on a proposed voluntary code of conduct for directors which will apply to directors of companies of all sizes, whether private, public and/or in the not-for-profit sectors.
The purpose of the code is to demonstrate a director’s intention to be bound by higher ethical standards structured around six principles of director conduct, each underpinned by a number of specific undertakings, including: leading by example, integrity, transparency, accountability, fairness and responsible business.
The consultation closes on 16 August 2024.
